We all know the UK press could be pretty awful to Shoegazers back in the day. I’m going to collect the worst. To kick things off we have this from Lime Lizard, a short lived monthly. This gem is about Chapterhouse at Reading Festival in 1991, when they came on after Nirvana.

“Nirvana kept up the pace on Friday, which really should have been an all American day, proved by the not so spiritual entrance by Chapterhouse who flopped with the grace of a tropical fish drowning in its own vomit”

I mean, ok, a few marks for imagination, but still, was this really necessarily? Let’s see what else I find.
